An abstract acrylic ink painting inspired by a visit to the Yosemite National Park this summer. In certain areas of the Yosemite National Park, the rangers have controlled burns of the ponderosa pine trees. I thought the burnt out shapes of these trees were ideal for a painting set against an orange sky. I have deliberately let some of the black specks of ink splash against the sky area, in order to create the effect of burnt cinders floating in the sky.
